Regent Honeyeater in Eucalyptus

Regent Honeyeater in Eucalyptus

A$775.00

Original Painting for Bird Week Exhibition / Currently Exhibiting at Wattle & Bee

This artwork is part of the Bird Week Exhibition, an annual art exhibition supporting BirdLife Australia. The theme this year ‘From the Ground Up’ explores the crucial connection between birds and trees.

Critically endangered, these stunning birds feed mainly on nectar from a small number of eucalypts. Highly mobile, they follow flowering eucalyptus throughout their distribution range. The fragmentation, degradation and loss of woodland within their ranges has severely impacted them as they are dependent on food sources throughout their travels. We were lucky enough to see Regent Honeyeaters in the wild and this artwork celebrates the special relationship they have with eucalypts.
